Accessibility

Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, voice control or other assistive technology.

Our goal

Always Accounted aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA on this website, including the member portal. We treat accessibility as ongoing work and review the site again when we make significant changes.

What we have done

In October 2026 we audited the public pages and the member portal. The audit combined automated testing with manual testing: using the site with a keyboard only, checking the names, roles and states that screen readers announce, measuring color contrast, zooming to 400 percent and narrowing the window to 320 pixels, increasing text spacing, and checking moving content. We have fixed many of the problems we found on the public pages and some of those in the member portal, including:

  • A clear focus outline on form fields, and focused items kept clear of the sticky header
  • Form errors on the sign-up and custom intake forms that say what is missing and are linked to the field they relate to, so screen readers read them with it
  • Required fields marked as required on those forms
  • Stronger contrast for small text, form field edges and selected options
  • A phone menu and an analytics choice that close with the Escape key, and an analytics choice that no longer takes keyboard focus when a page opens
  • Names and roles for the phone menu, the pricing tabs, the chat and the pop-up windows in the member portal, so screen readers announce them correctly
  • Decorative letters and arrows that screen readers no longer read aloud

Known limitations

  • Some decorative animation on the public pages, such as floating cards and a soft glow, keeps moving while the page is open, and there is no control on the page to pause it. It carries no information. To stop it, turn on the reduce motion setting on your device (on an iPhone or iPad: Settings, Accessibility, Motion, Reduce Motion; on a Mac: System Settings, Accessibility, Display, Reduce motion; on Windows: Settings, Accessibility, Visual effects, Animation effects off).
  • In the main menu, the link to the page you are on is shown by its color only. Screen readers announce it as the current page.
  • Some fixes for the member portal are not released yet. After some actions, such as sending a message, uploading a file or closing a window, keyboard focus can be lost; short confirmation messages disappear after about 5 seconds; and moving between screens in the portal does not change the page title.
  • The screens you see after signing in to the member portal have not been retested since these changes.
  • The Ask AA chat button is not shown on narrow screens or at high zoom. Its answers repeat information on our Services, Pricing and How it works pages, and you can call or email us instead.
  • Payments are completed on Stripe's checkout page, and member sign-in uses Microsoft sign-in pages. We do not control those pages. If either gives you trouble, contact us and we will help.
  • The document preview in the member portal shows pages as images that a screen reader cannot read. Use the Download button to open the file in your own software.
