Use your monthly written question or 10-minute call, add a consultation, select a package, or use the brief intake for tax and specialist work.
Get an answer or a proposed scope
A question gets a written answer or a recommended next step by 6:00 PM Eastern on the next business day. Larger work is reviewed for entity type, accounts, transaction volume, states, filing needs and record condition.
Approve the engagement
You receive the service scope, starting price and billing terms before professional work begins. We ask again before any time beyond it.
Share records securely
After acceptance, you receive the appropriate secure method for financial records, notices and identity documents.
Stay accounted for
Track approved, used and remaining time in the member portal. Keep the package, switch to Access at $9.99 in Billing, or cancel the whole membership.
Extra work approval
You approve additional work before it is added.
A fixed package covers the included time. If the records require more, additional bookkeeping is measured in 15-minute increments.
The team explains the extra work and its price, then asks you to approve it before adding time beyond the package.

How billing works

Paying
- Monthly only, billed in advance. No annual option, no minimum term, no free trial.
- Access, consultations and bookkeeping packages are charged at checkout.
- Tax packages, cleanup, notices and registrations are charged only after you accept the scope and price.
- Bookkeeping time beyond your package is $43.75 per 15 minutes, and only after you approve it.
- Government filing fees and third-party costs are shown separately and never hidden in a package price.
Leaving
- Manage or cancel your subscription in the secure billing area of your portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period; paid months are generally not prorated.
- A package includes Access. If you change from a package to Access-only, Access continues at $9.99 a month. To stop all recurring charges, cancel your subscription in secure billing or contact the team for help.
- Your records stay yours. Before we remove our access we confirm you have every reconciled period and report we produced.
- A tax package's engagement agreement, which you accept before it starts, states what happens if you leave before the return is filed.

Do I need Access if I choose a package?
Access is part of every ongoing package. The displayed package price includes it, so you do not add another $9.99 or carry two memberships.
What happens when additional work finishes?
The extra service charge ends and Access continues at $9.99 a month. For a bookkeeping package, switch your plan to Access in Billing to keep your membership; cancelling ends everything at the end of the paid period.
Do I need to know which service I need?
No. Choose the closest option or select custom review. The team will route the request after reading the intake.
Can I send a tax notice through the form?
Describe the agency and deadline, but do not upload or paste the notice. Secure document instructions come after the initial response.
Is this software doing my accounting?
No. Always Accounted uses a subscription-style relationship, but the accounting work and professional judgment come from our team.
Who does the work? Is it a CPA?
Our team does, and our tax work is led by an Enrolled Agent. Always Accounted is not a CPA firm. An Enrolled Agent is a tax professional enrolled to practice before the IRS, with the same unlimited rights before the IRS as a CPA. See how the two credentials compare.
When does billing start?
Access billing starts when you join online, and the first month is charged at checkout. Consultations and bookkeeping packages are also paid at checkout. Tax packages, cleanup, notices and registrations bill only after you accept the scope, price and engagement terms.
