Join Access and sign in

From the Start today page to your first sign-in with a one-time code.

Read the transcript

How to join Access, and sign in to your portal for the first time.

Start on the Start today page. Access is $9.99 a month. It includes one written question or one 10-minute call each billing month.

Choose Access, then enter your name, who the account is for, and the email address for your receipt.

Tick the boxes to confirm the membership terms and the Privacy Notice, then continue to payment.

You pay on Stripe's secure checkout page. Your card details go to Stripe, not to our website. Access is billed monthly, in advance, with no minimum term.

Right after you pay, we email you a welcome message. Choose Set up my portal. The link is personal to you.

Sign in with your email address. There's no password.

Microsoft then emails you a one-time code. Type it on the sign-in page, and you're in. If it doesn't arrive, check your spam folder, or ask for a new code.

The first time in, the portal asks a few basics about you. Never type Social Security numbers or bank details here.

Then you're on Overview, ready to ask this month's question or book your call.

Next time, sign in at www.alwaysaccounted.com/portal.

Ask a question or book your 10-minute call

Each billing month, Access includes one written question or one 10-minute call. You choose.

Read the transcript

How to ask your written question, or book your 10-minute call.

Each billing month, Access includes one written question or one 10-minute call. You choose. Start on Overview, in the card called This month’s question or call.

Choose Ask a written question. Pick a topic, and ask one clear question. Include any deadline, but never Social Security numbers, bank details or passwords.

Once it’s sent, the card shows the exact time your reply is due. Written answers come by 6:00 PM Eastern Time on the next business day.

When the team responds, we email you. For your privacy, the answer itself stays in the portal.

Read it in Help and glossary, under Your question history. A follow-up on the same topic is part of the same question.

Prefer to talk? Choose Book a 10-minute call instead. Calls are on Microsoft Teams, Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM Eastern, booked at least 24 hours ahead.

Microsoft emails you the Teams invitation. Need a different time? Cancel at least 24 hours before, and this month’s question or call is yours again.

A question or a call covers one topic, and an unused month doesn’t roll over. If you need real work, you get the scope, the time and the price before anything starts.

This is general information, not tax advice. For your own situation, ask the team through your portal.

Upload and find your documents

Send files securely, see when they are ready, and find what the team shares with you.

Read the transcript

How to upload your documents, and find them again.

Open Documents. It holds every file you send us, and every file the team shares with you.

To send files, choose them or drag them onto the upload box. PDF, CSV, XLSX, JPG or PNG, up to 25 MB each, and up to 10 at a time.

Pick a document type, then choose Upload securely. Please upload here, never by email.

Every file is checked for viruses first. While that happens, it shows Screening. It can usually be opened in a minute or two.

When it shows Ready, the team can open it. Files with a password can’t be checked, so upload a copy without one.

Sometimes the team needs a clearer copy. You’ll see what’s needed here, and we email you too. Just upload the new copy below.

To find a file, search by name, year or type.

Files the team shares with you show when they were shared. We email you when a new document is in your portal. Choose Preview or Download to open it.

Trouble uploading? Email info@alwaysaccounted.com. Never attach the document itself.

Book a consultation, by video or in person

A private 30-minute session: what it costs, how to book it, and how to change it.

Read the transcript

How to book a consultation, by video or in person.

A private consultation is a 30-minute session for one focused question. It’s $80 for Access members. New customers pay $89.99: the $80 session, plus their first month of Access.

Already a member? In your portal, open Schedule, and choose Unlock the calendar. You pay on Stripe’s secure page.

Once it’s paid, choose how you’d like to meet. By video, on Microsoft Teams, or in person, at our office in Wyncote, just outside Philadelphia.

Pick a time that suits you, then choose Confirm this time. In-person visits need at least 24 hours’ notice.

Your booking appears here. For an in-person visit, the office address is shown only after you book and pay: here, and in your confirmation email. For a video call, Microsoft emails you the invitation and Teams link.

Need to move it? Choose a different time, up to 24 hours before the appointment. To cancel, email info@alwaysaccounted.com. If you cancel at least 24 hours ahead, you’re eligible for a full refund. Later cancellations are generally not refundable.

Before the session, tell the team your topic, so they can confirm what background they need.

Read your receipt and manage billing

What your receipt shows, where your payments are, and how to change your card or plan.

Read the transcript

How to read your receipt, and manage your billing.

After each payment, we email you a receipt. It shows who was paid, the date, the last four digits of your card, what you paid for, and the total.

It also shows your next billing date. Choose View or download your receipt, or Download a PDF copy, to keep one for your records.

In your portal, Billing shows your plan, your billing period, and every payment.

To update your card, see invoices, or change your plan, choose Open secure billing. Stripe runs that page. Bookkeeping packages already include Access, so you’re never charged for it twice.

Access is monthly, billed in advance, with no minimum term. If you cancel, it takes effect at the end of the billing period you’ve already paid for.

If you’re given a refund, we send a separate refund receipt. How long it takes to show on your statement depends on your bank.

Something wrong with a charge? Email info@alwaysaccounted.com, and the team will look into it.

For AKM Financial clients: how to sign in to your new account for the first time.

Adam sets up your account, and you get an email from info@alwaysaccounted.com called “Adam has set up your Always Accounted account”. To check it’s real, call Adam at AKM Financial on the number you already know. Then choose Open my account.

The link is personal to you, and it works once, by the date shown. After that, sign in at www.alwaysaccounted.com/portal. If the link has expired, call us, and we’ll send you a new one.

Sign in with the email address the invitation was sent to. There’s no password. Microsoft emails you a one-time code to type in. Never share that code with anyone, Adam included.

The first time, you’re asked to read and accept Always Accounted’s Terms and Privacy Notice.

Then check your details. Fix anything that’s out of date, and save.

Next, you’re offered a short tour. Take it now, or skip it. You can replay it later from Help and glossary.

Send Adam documents in Documents, instead of by email. Returns and other documents from Adam appear there too. Your portal shows exactly what your account includes.

Calls with Adam work just as before: (215) 201-2977. And what you pay for your tax work doesn’t change because of this.

Need a hand getting started? Call (215) 201-2977, and we’ll walk you through it.
